Dr. Amanda Allen has been named Assistant Superintendent of Student & Community Services for the Grain Valley School District beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. In her new role, Allen will lead community engagement, district communications, and the coordination of student services such as homelessness, foster care, and school-based therapy. This role was previously held by Dr. Brad Welle who has been named superintendent of schools effective July 1. Dr. Allen has been with the Grain Valley School District for nine years and has served as a school leader for the past six years, first as assistant principal at South Middle School (2016-2020) and then as principal of North Middle School (2020-2022). Allen had previously served as a middle school math teacher for two years, followed by one year as a district instructional technology coach. “Dr. Allen’s focus is on what is best for students. She is a proven leader who has built strong relationships with families and staff. Her integrity and work as a servant leader will continue to serve our school community well," incoming Superintendent Dr. Brad Welle said.
