Jackson County Food Inspection Report

Jackson County Public Works Environmental Health Division inspects all restaurants, grocery stores, schools, mobile food and temporary food establishments in the City of Grain Valley. The following inspections were completed from February 17-28, 2025:

Item 8: MFC 6-301.12 Paper towels were not available at the handwashing sink in kitchen.
Item 14: MFC 4-601.11 (A) Observed discolored residue build-up inside soda gun nozzle and soda gun holder. Corrected. (Soda gun nozzle and holder were cleaned and sanitized).
Item 20: MFC 3-501.16 1. Observed products in the left make-table temping at 47-50*F. Cold products had been placed in the make-table less than 3 hours previous. Manager moved products in the make-table reach-in to a different cooler and placed remaining product on ice bath - after an hour, internal temperature of products were temping at 40-41*F. Re-Inspection required. 2. Products in the mini reach-in cooler were temping at 50-55*F. Length of time in reach-in-cooler was unknown. All potentially hazardous product was discarded. Re-inspection required.
Item 51: MFC 6-501.12 1. Observed grease and oil build-up on floor under the grills and fryers on cook line. 2. Observed food debris build-up on walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer floors. 3. Observed residue accumulation on top of dish machine. 4. Observed dark residue on wall at 3-compartment sink. 5. Observed the floors under the 3-compartment sink to be dirty.

Item 43: MFC 4-101.19 One of the kitchen microwaves is starting to show damage - peeling/rust around door.
Item 51: MFC 6-501.11 Multiple ceiling tiles are damaged/water stained. Repeat.

Item 21: MFC 3-501.18 Food was found in the reach-in coolers past the required 7-day discard from indicated prep date. Corrected. (Out-of-date food was discarded).
Item 26: 4-501.114 Sanitizer was not reading on test strips at dishwashing machine. Corrected. (Dishwashing machine was primed and reached proper concentrations).
Item 41: MFC 4-903.11 (A), (C) Observed box of paper towels stored on the floor in storage. Corrected. (Paper towels were moved to shelf).
Item 41: MFC 4-904.11 Observed clean silverware stored with the food contact surface facing up. Corrected. (Silverware was flipped with handle facing up).
