Jackson County Parks + Rec presents the 49th Annual Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts & Music at the Missouri Town Living History Museum

10/2/2025

Autumn in Missouri begins with one of the region’s most beloved traditions with the 49th Annual Fall Festival of Arts, Crafts & Music. The event, planned for October 4th and 5th, transforms Missouri Town Living History Museum into a bustling 19th-century village filled with music, food, family fun, and timeless traditions.

Each year, thousands of visitors step back in time to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of the 1850s. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring:
  • Live entertainment all weekend – toe-tapping fiddle tunes, energetic dancers, colorful storytellers, and authentic folk musicians.
  • Hands-on history – meet blacksmiths, woodworkers, tinsmiths, cooks, and artisans keeping centuries-old skills alive.
  • Shopping with a story – over 75 vendors offering handcrafted gifts, historic replicas, and local art perfect for holiday giving.
  • Kid-approved fun – pumpkin bowling, pony races, archery, and classic games from 150 years ago.
  • A taste of the past – hearty festival favorites from the food court and demonstrations of 1850s cooking.
  • Hayrides and tractor rides – the perfect way to end a day in the country.
“Few events capture the magic of fall like the Missouri Town Festival,” said Amy Coale, Missouri Town Site Supervisor. “It’s not just a festival—it’s a living history experience that families come back to year after year.”

Event Details:
Saturday & Sunday, October 4–5 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Missouri Town Living History Museum, 8010 East Park Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064

From the clang of the blacksmith’s hammer to the laughter of children racing through historic streets, the Fall Festival offers media outlets endless photo, video, and interview opportunities. Whether your audience is looking for fall fun, family outings, or a deeper appreciation of Missouri history, this is a can’t-miss story.
