MDC hosts several hunter education skills sessions near Kansas City in autumn

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to finish their hunter education certification around Kansas City this autumn. This training session is the final step to becoming hunter education certified, and the class is designed for participants ages 11 and older. MDC staff will be hosting several events throughout the month.

• Sept. 25 in Blue Springs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. This skills session will be held at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center located at 1401 NW Park Rd. Register at https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/211727.
• Sept. 27 in Blue Springs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This skills session will be held at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center located at 1401 NW Park Rd. Register at https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/211728.
• Oct. 9 in Lee’s Summit from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. This skills session will be held at MDC’s Kansas City Regional Office located at 12405 SE Ranson Rd. Register at https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/211729.
• Oct. 11 in Kansas City from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This skills session will be held at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center at 4750 Troost Ave. Register at https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/211731.
• Oct. 15 in Blue Springs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. This skills session will be held at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center located at 1401 NW Park Rd. Register at https://mdc-event-web.s3licensing.com/Event/EventDetails/211730.

Prior to attending the class, participants will need to complete the knowledge portion of the certification process. To do so, participants can either complete the online version for a fee or fill out the student manual chapter review questions. Those who choose to fill out the student manual chapter review questions will need to bring the booklet to the event for the instructor to review at no cost. The online knowledge portion and information about the student manuals can be found on MDC’s website at https://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZCt. Student manuals are also available at any MDC office.
