Public Notice: Sibley Generating Station Corrective Measures Assessment Meeting

Evergy Missouri West, Inc. (Evergy) will conduct a public meeting to discuss the results of the Sibley Generating Station Corrective Measures Assessment, dated September 2022 and available on Evergy’s Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Rule Compliance Data and Information website (https://evergy.com/ccr) in conformance with the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA) rule: Hazardous and Solid Waste Management System; Disposal of Coal Combustion Residuals from Electric Utilities. 80 Fed. Reg 21302. (April 17, 2015) (promulgating 40 C.F.R. § 257); 83 Fed. Reg. 36435 (July 30, 2018) (amending 40 C.F.R. § 257) (CCR Rule).

The objective of this meeting is to make available the findings presented in the Corrective Measures Assessment developed in accordance with applicable environmental regulations to address the results of groundwater monitoring performed at the Evergy facility. Comments will be received from the general public in attendance concerning the Corrective Measures Assessment. Evergy will also accept comments on the Corrective Measures Assessment through the Evergy CCR website (https://evergy.com/ccr) prior to December 19, 2024.
