The $7.5 million no tax increase bond issue brought forth by the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District (CJCFPD) passed easily on February 4th, with 86.26% voting to approve the measure.
CJCFPD will use funds to repair and improve existing District facilities and acquire fire trucks and other firefighting apparatus and equipment, including purchasing two fire engines and one ladder truck, upgrading communication systems and technology, as well as acquiring personal protective equipment and other firefighting and EMS equipment. Voter turnout for the February 4th election was light, with just 1,761 casting votes for the bond question. Voters next head to the polls March 10, 2020 for the Presidential Preference Primary. Residents may register in person at the Jackson County Election Board office at 215 N. Liberty, Independence, MO 64050 or any one of the authorized locations in this jurisdiction. Locations in Grain Valley include the Mid-Continent Public Library Grain Valley branch and Grain Valley City Hall. Residents may also print and complete the Missouri Voter Registration Application form found at the Election Board website, www.jcebmo.org, and deliver in person to JCEB or mail to Jackson County Election Board, P.O.
