For the past three years, Grain Valley summers have included Food Truck Fridays. The event began downtown, then moved to its current location behind the Community Center. This summer, Food Truck Fridays will return to its roots downtown on the first Fridays of June, July, and August, for "First Fridays" events featuring food trucks, local vendors, and downtown businesses.
"We are super excited about our 3rd year of Food Truck Fridays and are happy to be doing First Fridays this year downtown. It's a great way to showcase our downtown to those who may not make it there much. There have been some really cool businesses added, plus it gives you a chance to see the Historical Society if you haven't ever toured it before," Mike Todd, Grain Valley mayor and Grain Valley Fair committee chair said.
The First Fridays event will be held from 4:30pm - 8:00pm on Friday, June 3rd, and the following food trucks are planned to attend:
Ying's Thai Food
Steve's Lemonade Company
O's Natural Sno
KC Whip and Company
In addition to the food trucks and downtown businesses, around 20 vendors will set up tables downtown, and the Patel Group will be providing carnival games, a dunk tank, and bounce house. The Grain Valley Historical Society will open its doors for visitors and will have indoor seating for those who would like to check out Grain Valley's history while enjoying dinner.
